Jan 28, 2002 Crow Should Retreat To Her Nest In what was probably a prelude to the Super Bowl's halftime activities, Sheryl Crow made herself look a total fool during halftime of the NFL AFC Championship game between New England and Pittsburgh. Crow lip synced her new song which sounded like a very bad Go-Go's tune. A nop pop act lip syncing a performance may be a first (or is she pop?). And if that wasn't bad enough, after her performance, it appeared that no one in the crowd in Pittsburgh even clapped or acknowledged her performance. It is hard to say whose idea it was to have Ms. Crow perform at halftime of the AFC Championship game. This is just another example of some booking/promotional agent having his head up his ass. It is also an example of a desparate washed up artist looking for some quick and cheap publicity. Two incomplete passes. Don't expect this fiasco to raise Sheryl Crow's credibility with music fans. Thankfully, Crow's absurd showing was unable to damper an intense and enjoyable game. This was probably because she was ignored by everybody. I wonder what wonderful surprises the Super Bowl will have in store for us music fans? On second thought, I don't even want to know. Sphinx |
