March 8, 2002 Trip To DisneyWorld May Be In Order For Disney Chief Here comes another ignorant entertainment executive throwing his hat into the ring and giving his two cents on computer piracy issues. According to this story, Walt Disney Company CEO Michael Eisner said the computer industry's "short term growth" is based on piracy. He also went on to blast Apple Computer for their recent advertising campaign which he says promotes piracy. It appears that Mr. Eisner has seen the damage caused by the ignorance of the music industry to adopt to the new media. Instead of learning from the mistakes of clueless music executives, Eisner prefers to criticize the computer industry for liberating the general public from corporate crap by offering new alternatives for entertainment. One has to credit Eisner for being insightful enough to see his company's future crumbling right before his eyes. Just like the mindless folks running the music scene, Eisner would rather talk nonsense than move his company in a direction where it could benefit from the new technological advances. We can only guess that Mr. Eisner needs to go to DisneyWorld and conference this extremely important issue with Mickey and Goofy. If Eisner's uninformed comments are any indication, chances are both characters can give the Disney honcho some excellent advice on the subject. If you really want to piss off a shortsighted greed motivated entertainment executive like Eisner and do something productive at the same time, sign this petition which opposes the SSSCA, an absurd bill which is being pushed by Disney. So Mike, when are you going to DisneyWorld? Sphinx |
